Description

Garlic butter shrimp scampi lasagna merges coastal Italian flavors with classic comfort food, creating a luxurious pasta experience. Creamy layers of shrimp, garlic, and herbs promise a delightful culinary journey you won’t soon forget.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound (454 grams) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups (480 milliliters) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup (240 milliliters) Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup (120 milliliters) ricotta cheese

Seafood and Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (120 milliliters) unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup (120 milliliters) white wine (optional)
  • 1 cup (240 milliliters) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (240 milliliters) chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Seasonings and Garnish:

  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare lasagna noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside at room temperature.
  2. Sauté shrimp in olive oil over medium heat until they turn pink and are fully cooked, approximately 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer cooked shrimp to a separate plate.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic, cooking until aromatic for about 1 minute.
  4. Create the sauce by incorporating red pepper flakes, white wine, heavy cream, and chicken broth. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the mixture slightly thickens.
  5. Remove sauce from heat and blend in Parmesan cheese until smooth and fully incorporated. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of garlic butter sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Construct first layer by placing lasagna noodles over the sauce, then evenly distribute one-third of the shrimp, ricotta, mozzarella, and garlic butter sauce.
  8. Repeat layering process two more times, ensuring even distribution of ingredients.
  9. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese becomes golden and bubbling.
  11. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Choose quick-cooking shrimp to prevent overcooking and maintain tender texture during the baking process.
  • Replace heavy cream with half-and-half or whole milk for a lighter version of the dish without sacrificing richness.
  • Toast red pepper flakes briefly in the butter before adding other ingredients to enhance their smoky, spicy flavor profile.
  • Select high-quality Parmesan cheese and freshly grate it for maximum melting and flavor integration in the sauce.
